49ers ink third-round pick RB Coffee to four-year deal

Santa Clara, CA (Sports Network) – The San Francisco 49ers signed third- round pick running back Glen Coffee to a four-year contract on Monday.

In 35 career games (17 starts) for Alabama, Coffee rushed for 2,107 yards on 410 carries with 14 touchdowns. The 6-foot, 209-pounder also caught 42 balls for 351 yards and two touchdowns.

Coffee ran for 1,383 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2008. He was an All-SEC selection and Doak Walker Award semi-finalist that year. The 22-year-old was granted a medical redshirt in 2006.

San Francisco now has six of its seven 2009 draft picks signed.
