Not only that, he will play the first two days alongside defending champion YE Yang and the 1998 and 2004 champion Vijay Singh, in the group to watch.

Our coverage for the final two rounds on Saturday and Sunday will be eight hours and on all four days as soon as we are finished, you switch to Sky Sports HD to watch the climax of the third and fourth rounds.

USPGA live coverage details

As ever, our expert commentary team will be on hand to talk you through the action from the picturesque course on the shores of Lake Michigan, brought to you in stunning HD.

Woods is bound to be the centre of attention after his career-worst finish of 18-over at the WGC Invitational after which he admitted his place at the Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor is in doubt – and can still be overhauled by Phil Mickelson at the top of the world rankings.

A little closer to home the European challenge will be headed by Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell, while a number of others will be out to rack up Ryder Cup points or catch the eye of captain Colin Montgomerie.
